I am so excited to share more from this Uptown engagement session. To say that we’re obsessed with this session is an understatement! It had been raining on and off for days but we decided to take the chance and meet at Romare Bearden Park in early May. On the way there, the clouds opened up and it began pouring but still, we hoped for the best. As far as I’m concerned, they knocked this session out of the park. It rained, it poured, we laughed, we ran for cover, and we absolutely loved this session.
I asked Ashlei to tell me about their love story and how they got engaged. And y’all, this story is amazing. James’ creativity and thoughtful planning brought Ashlei right to the spot where we began our engagement session.
“He has planned a scavenger hunt for me every year for the past 3-4 anniversaries. This year was similar only I didn’t know what the end result was going to be. We were halfway through our scavenger hunt, when I began to get car sick like I usually do so we both weren’t worried…..The difference this time was that I threw up!! After he stopped and got me some Ginger Ale and crackers I told him I wanted to go back to my place instead of continuing the scavenger hunt. After being hesitant, I decided to continue with the hunt. I figured out halfway through due to the clues, and almost had a panic attack but still continued. We ended up at Romare Bearden Park , where on my last clue he proposed!!”
This rainbow of clues led her right to his proposal!
We took a break in the middle of the session to let the rain pour down and change outfits. Then we ended up with a gorgeous yellow sky over the city and an absolutely stunning view. We can’t wait for their wedding in Gastonia, NC this fall!
